Under the supervision of registered health care professionals you will be expected to:

  • Ensure patient safety is maintained and patient experience is positive by treating all families and colleagues with respect, dignity and courtesy in accordance with Trust values.
  • Assist the in the provision of general and technical activities in the delivery of Neonatal care, ensuring that at all times you act within your sphere of competence.
  • Assist all staff within the Neonatal Unit with all aspects of ordering and use of equipment. Teaching other staff members of the NICU team to clean, maintain and assemble equipment.

Qualifications

Qualifications - Essential_**- English and Maths qualification at Level - Care Certificate

  • QCF or BTEC or equivalent (NVQ) Level 2 qualification in Health and Social Care/Clinical Health or Apprenticeship

  • Level 2 English and Maths

_ Experience - Essential_

  • Experience of working with people in a caring setting

_ Experience - Desirable_

  • Experience within a hospital setting as a Health Care Support Worker

_ Skills and Knowledge - Essential_

  • Ability to work as part of a team
  • Effective care skills
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Able to meet the minimum skill set within first twelve months of appointment with support and development where required.
