The Female Lead is looking for a highly creative Social Media Manager to join our team. This person is responsible for looking after our 8 million strong social media community.

They will work at least two days a week from our London office, with the option to work three days a week from home.

As an educational but highly innovative charity, our aim is to empower women. We share the best and newest insight around women. We find the truths around issues that disproportionately affect women.

We do not express our personal opinions but instead use the power of the facts we collate and the data we gather.

We want you to help us share women's stories and expert advice from these ground-breaking insights and to spotlight those that are qualified to know what's best for us as women e.g.

doctors, psychologists, consultants and coaches.

Our Social Media Manager is responsible for creating and amplifying content that fits our narrative and conversation, based on what we discover excites, irritates or generally matters most to our audience.

You are responsible for using the data and insight we collect to show what unites or divides our audience to create a content and publishing schedule that thrives and grows community engagement, impressions and reach.

Our content sits across two core channels; our social media accounts and our online community hub run through Substack.

Develop and execute social media strategies to empower women and increase brand awareness, engagement and traffic.

  • Manage all social media platforms (e.g., Instagram, Meta, Twitter, LinkedIn, Threads, TikTok, Substack) including content creation, scheduling, publishing and community management.
  • This includes managing the day-to-day activities of the account, engaging with followers, and running advertising campaigns.
  • Optimizing it for social media platforms based on the audience.
  • Designing the narrative of our owned content strategy on social media; discussing women's real-life stories, presenting issues and empowering our community with the best and most up to date information. Making sure we are at the forefront of women's stories around overcoming adversity - inspirational rather than sensational stories.
  • Finding and amplifying key trending stories across social media that link to women's issues and empowerment.
  • Building and maintaining a relationship with our ambassadors and influencer friends.
  • Identifying third-party content that fits our narrative and empowers our audience and securing permission to share this.
  • Ensuring we achieve balance, diversity and representation across our content published.
  • Picking out the best 'click-bait' from our owned-content films to create short-form content for social media with the aim of engaging and ultimately driving more subscriptions to our online community.
  • Reviewing and selecting articles from our licensed media feed and online owned media to find the

Understanding the nuances of our audience across the different social media platforms and tailoring the content to achieve the best impact for each.


  • Copywriting all captions in a tone that fits our brand.
  • This person may also help to produce captivating videos with the content team.
Experience managing social media accounts and using analytics to inform planning

  • Commitment to keeping quality and focus
