We are assisting an NHS Trust in the South West of England to find a Consultant Stroke Physician either on a Substantive or 12-month NHS Fixed Term basis.

Key details about the Stroke Services provided:

  • Hyperacute and Acute Stroke care, including 7-day HASU ward rounds.
  • 24/7 Stroke Thrombolysis supported by the AGWS Stroke network.
  • Dedicated TIA clinics.
  • Daily Outpatient clinics.
  • Rehabilitation through 2 community Hospitals (1x13 bed and 1x16 bed rehabilitation unit) and Early Support Discharge (ESD).
  • Stroke Research.
  • Current overall performance in SSNAP is Level B and Level A at other sites.

The Rapid Access TIA clinic has been operational since 2004, offering swift assessment with established protocols for brain imaging (MRI) and carotid imaging. In addition, the stroke team provides Consultant Physician support to a state-of-the-art, purpose-built 20-bed stroke unit.

Aside from work, there are plenty of music festivals and local traditions to immerse yourself in. This role also presents a fantastic CESR opportunity for those aiming to advance to Consultant level, with an excellent support system in place.

For individuals without specialist registration, our client can provide a 12-month fixed-term contract. Those with specialist registration have the option for a substantive contract.
