Head of Maintenance

£53,353 and £61,823per annum based on experience

  • Hours of work: 37 hours per week (08:00 17:00)

Duties will include (but not limited to):

Planned Maintenance:

  • Ensure all works carried out whether it be planned, long term or reactive are in adherence with health and safety compliance and building regulations
  • To communicate and implement frameworks for the design and delivery of planned preventative maintenance procedures for the department
  • Procure specialist contractors when needed, ensuring all completed works are in adherence with University Regulations and Guidelines
  • Highlight Reactive, Planned Preventative & Long Term Maintenance Plans to ensure works are completed timely, safely and with mínimal disruption to students academia

Long Term Maintenance:

  • To undertake/procure costed condition surveys for the University and then subsequently implement and extend the existing 10 year Maintenance Investment Plan
  • To oversee the Estates Maintenance Capital and Revenue Budgets, ensuring works remain within said budgets and report any potential discrepancies
  • Ensure contractors and procured subcontractors work is in adherence with cost, quality, safety and sustainable practices that have been preagreed

Reactive Maintenance

  • Maintain responsibility for ensuring that all reactive works are completed in adherence to service level agreements
  • Ensure reactive maintenance procedures that have been allocated to direct labour or subcontractors is completed in a timely and cost effective manner

Experience, skills and knowledge required:

  • Minimum 5 years working experience within PPM in a relevant sector
  • Evidence of Continuous Professional Development throughout your career
  • Full UK driving license
  • An Engineering background is desired due to the variety of University Campus Buildings
