We're looking for a
Payroll Specialist, who will report into our Head of Specialist Functions and be based from our Sky View office in Castle Donington.


About the role...


Whilst our payroll function is outsourced, we're looking for an experienced
Payroll Specialist to be responsible for delivering the day-to-day tasks across all payroll activities within a fast-paced environment.


This is a critical and key role within the CP family and will work closely with stakeholders from Finance, the People Team (HR) and the wider business.


What you'll be doing


As
Payroll Specialist, you'll go above and beyond to ensure that colleagues are paid accurately and on time, providing a first-class payroll service to all.

In order to achieve this, your responsibilities will include but are not limited to.

  • Processing and reconciliation of a monthly payroll for the business
  • Reconcile all payroll benefits and pensions control accounts, including investigating and correcting differences
  • Reconcile HMRC payments to the EPS submission and online portal
  • Ensure all staff members receive correct salaries and a payslip per month
  • Providing advice and guidance on payslip issues and queries, including the liaison with the payroll provider
  • Providing advice and guidance on tax related issues and queries including the liaison with the managed payroll service and the HMRC
  • Ensure that all new starters are automatically enrolled into the correct pension scheme at the correct time to ensure compliance and liaise with the pension providers
  • Ensuring all statutory requirements are met including P11d
  • Reviewing internal processes and identifying continuous improvement opportunities
  • Develops and maintains a good working knowledge of the Payroll system (currently ADP)

What you'll need

  • Absence and parental leave policies to support the provision of manual calculations and the accuracy of salary payments. You must also be able to provide advice and guidance on these terms.
  • Advanced knowledge of MS Word and Excel with strong payroll system aptitude (including V-Lookups, Pivot Tables and Formulas)
  • Strong operational understanding of current UK payroll legislation
  • Things move fast around here So, you will need to be comfortable operating at pace and changing goalposts; Prioritising and managing your time efficiently is key
