We have an exciting opportunity within Ophthalmology for an enthusiastic, effective, forward thinking Registered Nurse to join our team.

As an Registered Nurse you will be an important part of the wider Multi-Disciplinary Team, working alongside Optometry, Orthoptics, Technicians, Photographers, HCA's , Nurse Practitioners, Administration, and Clinicians. The MDT is committed to working towards the highest standard of care in all ophthalmic specialities.

Main duties of the job As a Registered Nurse within Ophthalmology you will be trained in Visual Acuity Assessments , Administration of Eye Drops , Fluorescein Angiograms including cannulation , post-operative follow up appointments, assisting clinicians in Intravitreal Injection 's and patient preparation and many more ophthalmic procedures. On Eye Day Case Unit you will be responsible for the safety of patients undergoing day case ophthalmic surgery from admission to discharge.

In all areas you will be responsible for housekeeping of the department, ensuring we are compliant with all Infection Prevention and Control indicators participate in audits and benchmarking data collection.

Based in the purpose built Ear, Eye, Nose and Throat Centre, east Block, we are very easily accessible by public transport including medi-link bus routes and the Tram.

Our patients are referred to us from the local area of Nottinghamshire as well as further afield, quite often cross county. We see patients who are for routine diabetic checks as well as patients who have had surgery for different types of skin carcinomas. No two days are the same within the clinic
