An exciting and rare opportunity has arisen for Pharmacy Technicians to join the London Ambulance Service NHS Trust as rotational pharmacy technicians working across placements in IUC/111, 999 and the medicines packing unit.
We will support you to develop and grow your pharmacy skills both practically and strategically. We are looking for GPhC registered pharmacy technicians who are dynamic and willing to learn in a new and developing environmentTo support the production, training and implementation of SOPs.
To undertake specialist rotational placements in the Medicines Packing Unit, Medicines Governance and Integrated Urgent Care/111 (IUC/111).
To work closely with the IUC lead pharmacist, Trust Medication Safety Officer, chief pharmacy technician and production manager.
Travel is required to other LAS Trust sites as necessary for meetings.
To work a rota which includes early/night and weekend shifts
The Medicines Management Team is new and growing rapidly. Being new, has enabled a lot of innovation to occur and service improvement continues to blossom.
This vacancy would suit a ACT accredited pharmacy technician with a strong NHS background who is looking for a Team that can provide a high level of mentoring and support on an on-going basis.
Limited free parking is available at our current and new medicines packing units as well as good transport linksTo support the development and delivery medicine management training, if required and agreed for a range of individuals including clinicians and non-clinicians.
To supervise and undertake risk management and clinical governance activities within own area of responsibility and contribute towards the delivery of the appropriate quality standards and targets outlined in the Trusts Risk Management Strategy.
Priority will be given to London Ambulance Service employees who are at risk of redundancy.If you are considering applying for a vacancy with London Ambulance Services NHS Trust, please be aware it is a legal requirement to be fully vaccinated against Covid-19, by the 1st April 2022 for all patient facing roles.
If successful, you will be required to provide evidence of vaccination or Medical exemption.Registered with the GPhC as a Pharmacy Technician
NVQ3, BTEC in pharmaceutical science or equivalent
Accredited Checking Pharmacy Technician qualification.
Experience developing and writing Standard Operating Procedures
Experience supporting staff with training
Experience of report writing
Previous experience of delivering induction and competency based training
Experience in financial management
Robust knowledge of the GPhC Standards of conduct, ethics and performance
Demonstrates knowledge and understanding of national guidelines and can relate to performance related issues in practice.
Ability to apply technical pharmacy knowledge and critically compare a range of options
Good IT skills including data entry
Able to travel to different sites across LAS
Able to undertake further training/development as necessary.
