There are exciting plans to enhance this space as part of a grant from the National Lottery Heritage Fund, and we are now looking for an Activity Officer to help take this beautiful recreational area to the next level.
Job Purpose:
- To ensure that Radipole Park and Gardens delivers as a highquality inclusive, recreational facility for the general public, encouraging greater community engagement and reducing antisocial behaviour.
- To enable diverse audiences to learn more about the park as a natural resource through the provision of both formal and informal learning opportunities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Devise a Volunteer Handbook with the Friends' Group and existing volunteers.
- Devise, research and develop a structure to deliver volunteer recruitment, training and development in order to realise a sustainable volunteer programme.
- To maintain volunteer records (incl. timesheets, feedback following activity completion).
- Review volunteer role descriptions and lead on recruitment, selection, training and placement (including DBS checks where appropriate).
- Programming and delivery of community events.
- Liaison with partners to develop and a delivery programme of workshops.
- Delivery of orienteering route in the Park.
- Liaison with local schools to collate schools offer.
- Liaison with RSPB, and other local sites and stakeholders.
