The School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics at the University of Plymouth is seeking to appoint a Lecturer in Computer Science or Artificial Intelligence.

You will work alongside existing colleagues to launch two exciting new online programmes in Artificial Intelligence and Data Science.

Working in partnership with Cambridge Education Group (CEG), you will play a key role in leading the development of these new postgraduate programmes in an exciting and fast-moving field.

Applicants with expertise in artificial intelligence, computer science or data science are encouraged to apply.

You should hold a PhD in a relevant discipline, be able to demonstrate a strong track record of leading educational initiatives and will take a proactive approach to working with colleagues and external partners in the creation of these programmes.

You will also have the opportunity to contribute wider activities within the School where appropriate.


Based in the Faculty of Science and Engineering, the School of Engineering, Computing and Mathematics is a friendly, creative and inspiring place to work.


There are six areas of disciplinary focus:

civil and coastal engineering; computing; electrical and electronic engineering and robotics; mathematical sciences; mechanical, marine and materials engineering; navigation and maritime science.

The School is a collaborative and interdisciplinary community of world-leading academics and researchers focused on the creation of knowledge and innovative solutions that have a positive impact upon society.

We have an extensive research portfolio, ranging across offshore renewable energy, coastal engineering and robotics to cybersecurity, artificial intelligence and data science.
