Psychology Graduate


The school are looking for a Psychology Graduate to work as a Learning Mentor/Coach to support children with varying SEND.

This role will act as a springboard and training ground for graduates who want to learn how to teach and build transformational relationshipswith pupils.

The school are also able to offer a very clear pathway of progression into the teaching profession.

You'll be responsible for.

  • Gathering and utilizing information about students from a variety of sources including school files, SIMS based information, pupil tracking information, teachers, and external agencies.
  • Working with the PCC, carrying out additional student assessments for those who are returning to school following long absence, exclusion, dual registration at the Pupil Referral Unit, transfer from other provisions.
  • Manage the day to day running of the Pathway (internal exclusion) Centre:
  • Draw up, implement, and review Pupil Profiles and target sheets, and other measuring tools for use with targeted students.
  • Developing a mentoring relationship with individuals identified, supporting them in different settings such as inclass, at Homework Club, in the Learning Skills Centre and operating as a bridge between school and other provisions such as the Pupil ReferralUnit (PRU).
  • Plan 1:1 sessions which address the needs of the student and aid them in setting and reviewing targets.
  • Planning and running group work such as 'Settling In', 'Anger Management', 'Social skills' and 'Improving Attendance'
  • Monitoring the interventions and outcomes for each young person, using Cluster and school systems, reporting to the Learning Support Head of Cluster.
  • Gathering information for Pastoral Support Programme meetings, and attendance to those meetings.
  • Gathering of pupil information for other meetings such as Team around the Child meetings (TACs) at the direction of the DMS.
