Our client is one of the leading global energy / commodity traders, operating at the bleeding-edge of data science / energy innovation. As a senior member of the team you will lead the creation of new use cases / AI products.
Your contribution will underpin commercial strategy / P+L.
We are looking for a Desk Data Scientist with strong Machine Learning skills, a (hands on) 'individual contributor' with excellent consulting skills and a strong technical / coding background.
Responsibilities include:
- Thought leadership of new ways of how to apply data science to structured / unstructured data sets
- Applying machine learning models
- Systematic strategies
- Creation of AI use cases from fundamental data (Chatbots)
- MSc or PhD level Computer Science or Data Science (Essential)
- 3+ years of hands-on experience as a Data Scientist, Quant Researcher, AI Researcher
- Python (3), high level of capability in writing understandable / extensible code
- Experience of data storage platforms (SQL, NoSQL, Map-Reduce frameworks etc.)
- Proven track record of developing trading strategies / insights for front office users
- Time-series modelling
- Cloud-based data science workflows (AWS, GCP)
- Recent demonstrable experience in (Deep Learning / NLP / LLM)
- Experience in Energy / Commodities
