HM Treasury implementsfinancial sanctions in the UK, and Office of Financial SanctionsImplementation (OFSI) fulfils this role on its behalf. It leads onthe implementation of UN and UK financial sanctions and domesticterrorist asset freezing, providing a high-quality service to theindustry and guidance to help them follow the law. OFSI worksclosely with law enforcement, intelligence agencies and policycolleagues across Government, to help ensure that financialsanctions are accurately understood, implemented andenforced.

This role will be for a short term compliancemonitoringproject.

Aboutthe Job

In this role, keyresponsibilities will include:

  1. Leadyour own caseload of serious, complex or high-profile reportingcases ensuring they are reviewed and closed or advanced to theEnforcement unit accordingly.
  2. Effectivelymanage the performance and development of two compliance monitoringofficers, making sure that they meet their individual andcollective objectives and targets of theteam.
  3. Develop and maintain data analysis toolsto lead, summarise and present licensing reporting information, inan understandable and usable format for internal and externalpartners.
  4. Maintain up to date knowledge ofdevelopments in licence drafting policy and enforcement strategy,apply and pass on this knowledge asappropriate.
  5. Responsible for coordinating andquality assuring responses to external data requests into the teamwithin specified timescales.
  6. Support on work toput in place new tools and processes for building a picture of thescale of non-compliance in licensing reporting and work withcolleagues across OFSI to devise proactive outreach and engagementactivity.

We are recruiting for fourroles in the Compliance Monitoring team, within the Enforcementunit in the Treasury's Office of Financial SanctionsImplementation. These are roles that will provide opportunities forthe post-holder to be creative and innovative as we look to makechanges to further strengthen our compliance monitoring processesand practices.

Weare looking for people who have a good attention to detail and astructured approach to managing their work, who have the right setof skills for the role. They will be able to demonstrate thepositive values of our organisation, and an ability to quicklydevelop an understanding of a technical and sensitive operationalpolicy area and an ability to distil complex information clearlyand concisely. No previous experience of this type of work isrequired with training to be provided – just a keen interest in therole and a willingness to learn.
