Job description

The University of Winchester is looking for a Site Steward to join our Security Team. The Security Team provides 24hour cover for the University, which has over 8000 students of which 1600 are resident on the KAC Quarter, West Downs Quarter, Queens Road Student Village and Burma Road Residences.
The Site Steward's responsibilities include receiving visitors, response to alarms, maintenance and health and safety reporting, routine patrols around the University Campus and Halls of Residence and implementing the University Car Parking Policy. The position also delivers front line pastoral care, sometimes in conjunction with the Warden Team, Housing and/or Student Services, which may include responding to students in distress.
Normal hours of work will average 42 per week, to be worked on a flexible basis in order to provide cover as part of the ten Site Stewards working rotating shifts. Your working rotation will be agreed as accurately as possible with the Security Manager at the start of each fourweek period, and the shift pattern allows 12 days off every 4 weeks.
Site Stewards would be expected to cover shifts as and when required which on occasions may be at short notice.
