Systems Engineer

Terumo BCT Ltd, based in Larne, Co, Antrim, is a leading global company specializing in blood management, safety, therapeutic procedures, cell therapy, and collections. We are looking for a Systems Engineer to join our team at Terumo BCT - Larne Site to support our business growth.

Main Responsibilities:

  • Establish Maintenance & Facilities practices to manage Planned Maintenance and Critical Spares effectively.
  • Create Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and Work Instructions (WINs) for all Maintenance & Facilities tasks.
  • Collaborate with various departments to ensure compliance with engineering, operational, health & safety, and regulatory requirements.
  • Define KPIs for the Maintenance & Facilities Department, establish reporting mechanisms, and track performance.
  • Demonstrate strong proficiency in MS Office applications including Excel, PowerPoint, MS Project, and Power BI.
  • Develop strategies for Plant Calibrations to meet GMP standards and enhance process efficiency.
  • Manage the Plant Calibration System by outlining calibration needs for new instruments.
  • Support routine calibrations planning with production teams and external providers.
  • Create an Inventory Control Strategy using Blue Mountain RAM.
  • Implement TPM practices and work with Process Engineers to enhance operational efficiency.
  • Drive 5S initiatives and procure tools to support these strategies.
  • Establish health & safety protocols for the Maintenance & Facilities Department and document safe work practices.
  • Oversee PSSR inspections and coordinate necessary actions with relevant stakeholders.
  • Develop expertise in manufacturing processes and equipment to provide engineering support and suggest improvement measures.
  • Assist in managing external contractors when needed.
  • Ensure all engineering tasks comply with SOPs and policies, completed on time.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Engineering Lead.

Essential Criteria & Skills:

  • Degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Manufacturing Engineering.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience post-qualification.
  • Proficiency in MS Office and strong communication skills.

Desirable Criteria & Skills:

  • More than 10 years of post-qualification experience.
  • Experience with Lean Six Sigma, TPM, and 5S in a pharmaceutical setting.
