Send Manager

London, Greater London, United Kingdom Asend Limited Full time

ABOUT ASEND
ASEND is a highly specialist SEND company, providing consultancy, training, recruitment and tuition. ASEND is run by SEND education experts with long experience of working in schools, charities and local authorities.

One of the key areas of our support for young people and their families is our specialist, SEND-focused Tuition.

We have a diverse team of tutors providing home or local tuition for children with SEND who don't have a school place, across several Londonboroughs and Home Counties.

Our tutors support students back into education, by filling in gaps academically and supporting their mental health and well-being.

We are not a 'typical' tuition agency - everything we do stems from our deep expertise in and passionfor SEND - we work closely with families and local authorities to find perfect matches for young people, to support their development as well as possible.

You will find this passion is present across every member of our team.

ABOUT THE ROLE

We are seeking a passionate SEND specialist teacher to join our team as SEND Manager and manage our fantastic Tutor team while our colleague Tania is on maternity leave.

You'll work with tutors, young people, families, and other stakeholders to ensure thatthe highest standards are maintained and that our young people make great progress and transition successfully back to school.

ASEND children and families always come first and everything we do is in the interests of the pupils for whom we work.

You'll have a particular responsibility for embodying and promoting this ASEND culture throughout our team. The SEND manager supports ASEND'sleaders and advocates our low arousal and positive behaviour approach.

This role is a Maternity cover, but with the growth ASEND has experienced over the last two years there is a possibility for this role to become a long term career.

ABOUT THE OPPORTUNITY
This a superb opportunity for an experienced teacher with a background in and passion for SEND to impact on services throughout the region

You'll need to have:

  • QTS
  • Early Years/Primary school background
  • Experience of working at a management level in a school or local authority, and of providing effective leadership within the SEN field.

Ideally you'll have some experience of working with children who have complex needs and whose attainments are well below the level expected for their age.

You'll be people-focused with the ability to lead and motivate, but also have a well-organised andrational approach to your work and management style.

Currently staff are based at home, with regular in person meetings, but this job does require a driver who would be prepared to travel to different areas especially around North and East London, to directly support families and tutors.

Flexible working hoursare possible.
