As a Warehouse Operative, you will be part of the Inventory Operations and Supply Management team and will be required to provide safe custody and real-time visibility of our stock holdings which are then prepared for despatch in line with agreed customer service levels.
Operating on a 24/7, 365 days per year, the team provides warehousing, storage and distribution of materials and critical equipment across the entire business.
Your main duties will include:
- Operating mechanical handling equipment in a safe manner
- Using SAP to ensure that stock levels in the distribution centres reflect realtime holdings
- Receiving, picking and packing materials
- Progressing goods in and goods out of areas of activity
- Updating stock records accordingly
- Safely and securely loading and unloading vehicles
- Providing support to the wider business during times of operational incidents
- Reporting vehicle defects and ensure that the defect is documented
- Ensuring the safe custody of Thames Water stock and equipment
Job Details
- £24,000 to £28,500 per annum depending on skills and experience
- 45 hours per week, Monday-Friday
- Oncall rota: Monday-Sunday: Oncall enhancement, call out charge and overtime paid
- Based at Slough but be willing to attend other distributions hubs when needed
We're looking for you to
- Have previous Warehouse experience
- Hold a valid full UK driving licence and have your own transport
- Excellent numeracy, verbal and written skills
- Possess basic computer skills, specifically Excel
- Be comfortable with manual handling, lifting up to 25Kgs
