About the role and our team
Would you like to make a difference to the lives of the Island's primary school children?

We are looking for Relief Catering Assistants to work in various primary schools around the Island providing school meals.


This is relief work that requires you to be flexible, happy to travel to different schools, enjoy communicating with children, have a hardworking and friendly attitude and be part of a dedicated team.


You will be responsible for:

  • Food preparation, including simple cooking and service of snacks and main meals
  • Assisting with the service of meals, encouraging pupils in a friendly and positive manner to try all foods
  • Maintaining food handling and personal hygiene standards
  • Cleaning of the dining area, kitchen surfaces, cupboards, tables and equipment
  • Washing dishes, cutlery, containers, etc.


This is a great opportunity as you will only work when it is convenient for you, and there is no obligation to accept any work that is offered to you.

which the Department will cover the cost of for you.

Please note if you have lived for more than 6 months outside of the UK in the last 5 years, you will be required to obtain a Letter of Good Standing from the appropriate authorities in the relevant locations, please read the guidance about how to obtain this letter.

A uniform will also be provided.

A relocation package and interview expenses are not available for this role.
