Psv Bus Driver

Based out of our depot in Fleetwood we operate a varied fleet of buses and coaches. The vehicles are not brand new, but they are all clean, tidy and reliable. We have a variety of work which I will summarise below.

We are not a glamourous company, we don't try to be anything we are not and stick to our bread-and-butter core work of School Transport, Rail Replacement and Private Hire.

We like to think of everyone as part of the family, I know your name; I say thank you at the end of every week and occasionally I might even treat you to cakes on a Friday

We are a family run company and we like to think of our staff as part of that family, we have a laugh and a joke but we all pull together to get the job done.

Our work does require some unusual working hours and weekends are required as and when, but I like to think we share the work out between everyone and it is a fair rota.

The work we do is as follows:

• School Transport

We are the largest provider of Home to School Transport on the Fylde Coast. We transport 100's of pupils to and from schools and colleges in the local area each day.

We try to keep one driver to a route allowing the drivers to become familiar with the route, timings and which kids can't get out of bed in a morning and come running up to the bus 2 minutes late.

We work for both local authority and Private School customers and lengths of days can vary between runs. For this you will need an Enhanced DBS Check and this is a necessity.

Rail Replacement

Working on behalf of Northern Rail we provide Rail Replacement services between various stations throughout the North West utilising our PSVAR Compliant fleet.

This is mainly weekend working and some nights but as previously stated this is shared out amongst all the staff to make it fair.

Private Hire

We provide various customers with private hire for trips throughout the country. We try to avoid long distance work as we can keep busy enough in our local area.

This can be very varied, one day you might be taking the local WI to a Garden Centre, the next a Hen Party on a wild weekend to the city and the next a group of Football Fans to a match and rounding the week off with a School Group to Blackpool Zoo.

Every day is different here and it might even be that you go collecting vehicles that we take in for re-sale.

We do not have a cleaner and it is your responsibility to keep the fleet clean, if we have quiet days then everyone clubs together and gets buses washed, cleans them inside and ensures toilets are dropped and sanitised.

Once all that is done the workshop will always benefit from a brush through and the brew room can always use abit of titivating.

This may sound like I am hiring a general dogsbody with a PSV license, don't worry 's my job and rest assured I will never ask you to do anything I would not do myself.

We all read the news and there is a nationwide driver shortage, our rate of pay may not be the best in the area and our vehicles may not be the newest but as previously stated, we don't flog you to death, we have plenty of banter but I am very proud to say I have a fantastic team who all pull together and get the job done.

Don't worry if you have only ever been on the magic roundabout of driving round a local bus route and Private Hire is alien to you.

We will take the time to work with someone who wants to learn.

We all have to start somewhere and I don't mind taking a chance on someone who has that drive to succeed.

Now for the bit you have all been waiting for, I pay £10.50 per hour during the week and £15 per hour at weekends, you need to have a Full Cat D (PCV) license preferably clean, a Driver CPC Qualification (Don't worry if it has expired, we can sort you out with training) and a Digital Tachograph Card.
