Looking for a fresh challenge in Electrical Engineering? Our client, with over two decades of experience providing Automation and Electrical Solutions to various industries such as Energy, Pharmaceutical, FMCG, and Manufacturing.

We are currently seeking a Senior Electrical Engineer (Protection and Control) to join their team in Derbyshire, to offer innovative solutions and services to the Energy sector. Remote work option available. Must be eligible to work in the UK.

As the Senior Electrical Engineer, you will have the exciting role of leading a team of engineers to meet customer Protection & Control (P&C) needs. Your expertise will ensure compliance with relevant standards, laws, and contract specifications. If you have significant experience in P&C design in an NERS certified environment or for a major UK utility, and detailed knowledge of UK-specific P&C schemes up to 132 kV, then this position is ideal for you.


Responsibilities:
  • Lead a team of engineers to fulfill customer P&C requirements
  • Ensure compliance with standards, laws, and contract specifications
  • Supervise the preparation and approval of all necessary drawings
  • Design work in accordance with Health, Safety & Environmental Procedures
  • Review contract documentation and define the Company's scope of work
  • Participate in Design Review / Contract Close-out Meetings
  • Collaborate with Engineers, Designers, and Junior Engineers

Qualifications:
  • Bachelor or Masters degree in electrical engineering
  • MIET
  • Significant experience in Protection and Control design
  • Detailed knowledge of UK-specific P&C schemes up to 132 kV
  • Experience engaging with customers and suppliers
  • Ability to process/review calculations to verify designs
  • Leadership skills and team management experience
  • Familiarity with Protection Relay Test Equipment
  • Experience in P&C FEED or detailed design of high voltage (11kV to 132kV)
