Main duties of the job


We are looking for an enthusiastic colleague, who is forward thinking and a strong team player, who shares our ethos and approach of putting patients first, to join our dynamic, well established, hardworking and friendly team.

We have invested in our non-clinical staff to improve the systems we use to reduce our GP workload. We have an established workflow process, and a prescriptions team, who process the prescription requests and organise reviews. They also complete reconciliation from discharges.

All this to reduce GP admin burden and use our staff in the most effective way to benefit the patients and staff.

We also have a Pharmacy Team who are dedicated in helping us to achieve our IIF indicators.

About us


We have 2 experienced partners supporting a team of 1 salaried GP, 1 ANP, 2 nurses and 2 HCAs, altogether looking after a patient population of almost 7,000 patients.

We operate out of a purpose-built health centre which we share with 2 other practices and community staff.


Our Senior Partner is the Clinical Director for Winsford PCN, and our other Partner is the Clinical Lead for Care Communities in Winsford.

We are passionate about working together within our PCN, supporting staff of the PCN and federation, including our physios, pharmacists, social prescribers, mental health practitioners, and all our wonderful care coordinators who provide care for vulnerable patients.


It wouldn't be unusual for a weekly staff lunch provided by a local caterer to encourage team bonding and wellbeing.

We also thoroughly enjoy treating our staff to two sociable functions a year, as a thank you and recognition for everyone's hard work and dedication.

Whilst we strive to achieve outstanding performance for our patients, we are equally committed to the wellbeing of all our staff.

Winsford lies in the beautiful countryside of Cheshire. It is well served in terms of schools and leisure facilities. This post involves provision of primary health care services to individuals attending as patients of High Street Medical Practice

Principal Accountabilities

  • To deliver appropriate management, treatment, and advice to patients of High Street Medical Practice.
  • To uphold the principles of good medical practice as stated in the GMC statement of professional values and responsibilities.
  • To complete admin as agreed within your job description, which will include referrals, letters, and prescriptions.
  • To complete simple private forms when requested
  • To Keep professional knowledge and skills up to date and recognise and operate within the limits of professional competence
  • To provide general practice consultations to patients and, where appropriate, physical examinations for the purposes of identifying or reducing the risk of disease or injury.
  • To ensure that clear, accurate contemporaneous records are made of all patient encounters.
  • To arrange referrals for patients where appropriate.
  • To provide reports and information to external agencies for the benefit of patients, e.g. social services, housing department, benefits agency when those primarily responsible for these reports are not available.
  • To Be honest and trustworthy; respect and protect confidential information
  • To Act quickly in safeguarding matters where you believe patients or staff are vulnerable to abuse
  • To provide evidence of completion of vocational training, GMC registration, medical indemnity insurance, DRB clearance and Hepatitis B immune status.
