The team is there to support and drive the growth of our DTC business, across both online (E-Store) and offline (Retail) channels.

Our team is fully coordinated into the DTC team (around 100 people) and play a pivotal role in ensuring financial performance is improved.


The DTC team encompasses many functions including Commercial, Marketing, Operations, Customer Experience, as well as collaborating with divisional teams and partners.

DTC is a huge strategic priority for Samsung, meaning a great variety and scope within the role, along with the opportunity to craft and influence this growing part of the business

Role and Responsibilities

Your Key Responsibilities:


The Commercial Finance Business Partner role is critical for ensuring that DTC sales growth within the product categories is improved, whilst delivering a strong profit contribution.

The role can be broken down into 4 key areas of responsibility:

Business Partnering / Commercial- Day-to-day business partnering with the DTC Commercial Teams- All over the numbers, understanding sales performance and trend for categories/business area- Support delivery of commercial projects within business area- Ensure end-to-end financial appraisal for new initiatives, consulting key partners, business casing

P&L Management- Present financial performance at commercial meetings to inform decision-making- Understand the current and upcoming commercial plan in order assess financial impact- Identify cost control areas and devise a profit improvement plan for each area- Educate key partners on P&L drivers and levers for growth (training)

Proposition, Pricing and Promotions- Simulate impact of new propositions and promotions, make recommendations and draw conclusions- Challenge the commercial team on performance of key promotions / sell-out platforms- Respond to, and deliver, adhoc analysis requests from commercial team- Understand DTC pricing policy, associated processes and ensure fit-for-purpose

Financial Risk Management & Governance- Ensure adherence to eStore policy and process at all times- Innovate and look to improve/automate associated financial processes- Ensuring accurate accounting process and guidelines are followed- Understand and be aware of legal and regulatory aspects of selling direct

What we need for this role


Hard Skills- A part-qualified accountant (CIMA / ACCA)- 1+ years' experience working in a Finance Business Partner (or similar role) or an ability to demonstrate proven experience and skills- Experience of working in technology or FMCG sectors- Good understanding of a range of interconnected, internal systems - Hands on experience of using ERP systems (preferably SAP)- Able to manage multiple partners, ability to influence and prioritise workload- Capable of managing sophisticated financial simulations (e.g.

business casing, ROI, break-even, etc), through strong Excel modelling skills

Soft Skills- Good analytical skills, able to understand business drivers and interpret financial results- Strong interpersonal skills, ability to communicate effectively with peers and partners, and work well with others- Take ownership and accountability for their business area; adopt a proactive approach- Strong influencing skills to persuade partners (e.g. DTC commercial team) that your conclusions are accurate and acquire agreement.- Able to think clearly under pressure and articulate a credible response- Able to make suggestions based on limited info / data - making sense of what you have and not getting hung up on striving for precision
