CLEANING STAFF JOB DISCRIPTION:

Cleaner responsibilities include:

  • Cleaning, stocking and supplying designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning etc)
  • Performing and documenting routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy cleaning tasks and special projects
  • Keeping good relations with those occupying the properties

Job brief


We are looking for a dedicated cleaner to take care of our facilities and carry out cleaning and maintenance duties within our supported housings around the West Midlands.

The goal is to keep our buildings in a clean and orderly condition.

Staffing:

  • To participate in annual staff appraisals with the Senior staff.
  • Working in conjunction with the Senior Management to ensure that a staff development plan is followed.
  • To undergo training and supervision by the Senior Management as required.
  • To work in any house within the Service and, if necessary, within other Services.

Responsibilities

  • Clean, stock and supply designated facility areas (dusting, sweeping, vacuuming, mopping, cleaning ceiling vents, restroom cleaning, bedsit cleaning etc)
  • Perform and document routine inspection and maintenance activities
  • Carry out heavy and detailed cleansing tasks and special projects emergency situations, unexpected large amounts of cleaning.
  • Notify management of occurring deficiencies or needs for repairs
  • Make adjustments and minor repairs
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms
  • Cooperate with the rest of the staff
  • Follow all health and safety regulations
  • Understand that these houses will have vulnerable people living here who have low levels of understanding about cleaning and maintaining their home space.
  • To clean bedsits during tenant move in and move out. Making sure the bedsit is in the best condition for a new tenant i.e washing duvets/ cleaning mattress/ removing rubbish/dusting
  • Notify management of deficiencies or repairs required
  • Stock and maintain supply rooms

Requirements:

  • Proven working experience as a Cleaner
  • Ability to handle heavy equipment and machinery
  • Knowledge of cleaning chemicals and supplies
  • Familiarity with Material Safety Data Sheets
  • Integrity
  • Driving licence and personal car company does not provide vehicle fuel use will be paid for.
  • You do not need any specific qualifications or experience but some of the general skills that a good Cleaner should possess are:
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Physical abilities
  • Good numeracy and literacy
  • High level of attentiontodetail
  • Good organisational abilities
