An exciting opportunity has arisen to join us as Network Associate Director for Psychological Professions within the Fylde coast here at LSCFT.

The Fylde network covers a range of services including adult and older adult community mental health services and inpatient mental health services.

The Associate Director for Psychological Professions is an integral role within the Network Senior Leadership Team.

Working alongside the Specialist Network's Senior Operational, Nursing & Medical Network Directors, together with Allied Health Professionals, Pharmacy and Social Care leads.

The successful candidates will have experience of providing expert clinical supervision and consultation to psychological professionals.

You will join a supportive group of five other Network Associate Directors for Psychological Professions covering the locality based network areas.

The post holder will take responsibility for continuing the leadership of a Professional Network (Locality) Forum which will encompass all psychological services and therapists within the Fylde network.

This will enable and support the pooling, development, sharing and retention of psychological knowledge and skills, strategic planning for the profession, professional and clinical governance and a clear identity for psychological services and therapies.

It will facilitate co-ordination of clinical supervision and training placements and support recruitment, professional self-regulation and continuing professional development.

You will work alongside the Director for Psychological Professions to translate and enact the actions attached to the emerging Psychological Professions Strategy at network level.

The post offers a combination of working at a mutually agreed base alongside home based work.

Lancashire & South Cumbria NHS Foundation Trust provides a range of services including secondary mental health care across this area.

Specialist provision comprises inpatient child and adolescent mental health services, perinatal mental health and forensic services including low and medium secure care.


The Trust also provides a range of physical health and well-being services in the community alongside a range of partners in the Lancashire, Cumbria and Sefton area.

Post-graduate doctorate in clinical psychology, (or equivalent for those trained before 1996) as accredited by the BPS including specifically models of psychopathology, clinical psychometrics and neuropsychology, two or more distinct psychological theories and lifespan development psychology.

Evidence of continuing professional development as recommended by the BPS.
Skills in the use of complex methods of psychological assessment, intervention and management.
Highly developed skills in providing consultation to other professional and non-professional groups.

Doctoral level knowledge of research design and methodology, including complex multivariate data analysis as practiced within the field of clinical psychology.

Knowledge of legislation and its implications for both clinical practice and professional management in relation to the client group and mental health.

Experience of working with a wide variety of client groups across the whole life course, in various settings including outpatient, community, primary care inpatient and residential care settings.

Experience of effective multi-agency and disciplinary team working and networking.
Experience of professional management of qualified and pre-qualified clinical psychologists.
