Requirements:

  • Available to work Monday to Friday 8am 5pm

Key Responsibilities:

  • Deliver efficient repairs and maintenance services
  • Carry out repairs and maintenance in accordance with current Building Regulations, Health and Safety Legislation and Association timescales
  • Submit detailed reports/photos upon completion of every job via a mobile device
  • To ensure that repairs are completed within the target response times to a high standard to meet the expectations of the organisation and residents.
  • Identify and diagnose faults and rectify first time wherever possible
  • Ensure that all stock that is issued and any materials used are done so in a costeffective way without compromising work standards
  • Ensure that all equipment and van stock is replenished when required
  • Make sure stock is kept to agreed quantities at all times and accounted for at all times during van checks/audits
  • Order own materials (that are not part of van stock) and be prepared to pick it up from the suppliers direct
  • Ensure all scheduled work is completed at the end of each day and emergency jobs and additional works are dealt with effectively before the end of each day
  • Ensure all jobs are processed in real time via mobile device
  • Identify and diagnose faults and advise appropriate measures as required and rectified first time wherever possible
  • There is a need to be particularly sensitive to the needs of tenants who have support needs or are deemed vulnerable

Person Specification:

  • Possess a relevant trade qualification and/or experience in the following;
Carpentry, Painting, Plastering, Tiling, Plumbing, Knowledge of basic electrics, Flooring, Window and door repairs.

  • Recognised trade qualifications such as City and Guilds or NVQ level 2 and
  • Experience of a range of repairs and maintenance work within social housing, preferred but not essential
  • Previous experience of PDA use
  • Be expected to have an excellent knowledge of the requirements of the Health and Safety Act
