GENERAL ROLE


Plan and implement an extensive tailored programme of activities and events to both group and individual resident basis which are appropriate to the residents needs and which provide stimulation and enjoyment for those taking part.

To work alongside the Care Assistants at breakfast/lunch time to assist Residents with their dietary requirements.


Work with other members of staff to provide the individual care required by each client whilst retaining client dignity, individuality and choice as much as possible.

Co-ordinate, implement and evaluate planned activity programmes based on individual needs and abilities.

Provide stimulation to clients through conversation enabling them to enjoy hobbies and activities within the Home.

Offer support and reassurance to clients with a variety of abilities and needs.

Accompany clients to events and social outings as required.


Ensure that events within the Home are planned, promoted and publicised on internal televisions using pictures taken of residents, events and staff well ahead of time.

To ensure that families are invited and involved in the events and activities of the Home.

Promote equality and individuality.

Work under the direction of the Nurse Manager/Deputy Nurse Manager.

Draw up monthly rotas to include all Activity staff.

Draw up a monthly activity planner which will include both group and individual activities.

Liaise with other members of the Care Team and complete necessary documentation relating to client care.

Take part in staff meetings and attend training sessions when requested.

Uphold the principles and standards of the Home at all times.

Liaise closely with Nurse Manager/Proprietor regarding any areas of concern.

Have an awareness of current regulations and Registration Requirements.

Observe the Home's Health & Safety Policy at all times.
