Network 50+ provide activity and social support to people with learning disabilities, mental and physical health needs. The group offers a wide range of social, creative and educational activities based on a person centred approach. We promote the concept of an active later life for all.We offer opportunities for people to maintain independence, learn new skills and hobbies, meet new people, make and maintain friendships and make lasting connections.
Due to expansion, The Creative Arts Team are seeking bank support workers to help out on an ad hoc basis who can help broaden our offering in Music, Dance, Drama and Performance.
The ideal person would be experienced in these areas, but willing to work flexibly and collaboratively across all Creative Arts opportunities.
DUTIES INCLUDE BUT ARE NOT LIMITED TO:
- Help prepare the environment for the day, including setting up tables, chairs and other equipment.
- Setting up and serving morning refreshments.
- Setting up and participating in table games, art activities, chair based exercises and other activities during the day.
- Help preparing for, cooking and serving meals and refreshments with regard to individual health needs. Washing up and cleaning food and dining areas.
- Assisting members in and out of taxis and welcoming them and other visitors to the group
- Ensuring all paper work and operational policy systems are accurate and up to date, ensuring confidentiality at all times.
THE IDEAL CANDIDATE:
- Ability to work in a person centred way both on a 11 basis and within a group
- Able to communicate effectively with people, including all members, colleagues and other organisations
- Ability to motivate and inspire people and to encourage new skills and experiences with minimum intervention
- Able to work effectively as part of a team and also use own initiative
- A positive approach towards people with learning disabilities and older people in general
- Enthusiasm to introduce new ideas
- Commitment to encouraging maximum independence, choices, personal development and maximising creative and learning opportunities
- Good Organisational and planning skills
