The Opportunity:

The School of Engineering seeks to appoint a Research Associate in Single-photon Sensor Technology for Underwater Imaging.

This Research Associate position will contribute to the project _Underwater single photon imaging system _within the Institute for Integrated Micro and Nano Systems (IMNS) at the University of Edinburgh.

The project is funded by Innovate UK and involves a consortium led by Sonardyne International.

This role is UE07 and is available on a fixed term basis for up to 12 months.

Your skills and attributes for success:

  • An undergraduate degree and a PhD in Electronic Engineering, Computer Science, or related area
  • Capable of working collaboratively with researchers and industry professionals from different disciplines or technical background
  • Capable of working independently, exercising a high degree of initiative, and demonstrating a proactive and flexible approach to work
  • Good communication skills: oral, writing and presentation of data
