Primary Function of the Position:


Reporting to the Director of Tech, each Technical Lead plays an integral role in the development, delivery, maintenance, and support of our insurance-based systems, both public-facing and internal.


Technical Leads contribute to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, from design to delivery and ongoing support and maintenance.

They are also responsible for driving not only the technical vision of the business, but also the vision of their own teams and products, leading the team to realise and deliver on these visions.


Core Responsibilities of the Position:

  • Alongside the Product owner, you'll be responsible for setting the technical and product direction of your team, setting realistic timelines, identifying risks, and ensuring the project goals and deliverables are correctly implemented.
  • Lead a team of engineers around a cross functional product team, providing guidance and mentorship for individuals helping them grow in their careers.
  • Identify opportunities for process improvement, perform thorough code reviews, ensure solutions are tested correctly, oversee quality assurance, and ensure best practices are followed.
  • Facilitate communication between technical and nontechnical team members and stakeholders, acting as the main point of contact for technical issues providing guidance and problem resolution.
  • Actively participate in sprint development, contributing to coding tasks, with a focus on tackling the more complex technical challenges that require specialised expertise.
  • Use your technical knowledge and expertise to help build a better Tempcover, and bring people along with you on that journey.
  • Provide overall technical guidance and mentorship to team members, whether within their immediate team or as a technical department as a whole.
  • Leverage real time metrics, data, and testing to continuously monitor and enhance your product's performance, ensuring its health & robustness throughout.
  • Pioneering the future of Tempcovers' product development, employing technologies like React,.Net Core, Cloud-Native solutions, and more to construct robust, scalable platforms to build upon.
