The Role - Lead Motion Designer:

We are looking for an exceptional individual to join as our new Lead Motion Designer, joining our multi-disciplined Content team who's goal is to create the best Mental Health and Wellbeing content in the world.


In this role you'll get to:

Collaborate with other creatives in Content on projects from beginning to end, this would involve:

  • Willingness to learn and share knowledge (related and unrelated to motion
  • we're a curious bunch)
  • Work in close collaboration with the Creative and Copy Lead to ensure processes and the daytoday runs as smoothly as possible.
  • Champion motion and increase people's knowledge, awareness and understanding of the importance of motion.
  • Master creative thinking, this could involve:
  • Collaborate with your cross-functional peers to create a truly impactful Unmind content experience.
  • Have the ability to generate creative insights and set creative directions on complicated topics so they feel simple, relatable, human and memorable.
  • Have a good understanding of what makes a creative idea great and how to translate it into various types of motion and storytelling
  • Shape the Creative direction of projects from beginning to end this includes:
  • Leverage your expertise in motion and production to both upskill and guide the Creative team. Additionally, serve as the voice of reason in motion and animation, offering guidance on content narratives when collaborating with designers and/or copywriters.
  • Collaborate with the Creative team to shape and prepare briefs, while also working closely with the team to translate the creative vision into compelling storytelling, motion, and animation across various projects including animated, multimedia, and live action formats.
  • Take ownership of motion templating and storyboarding, delegating tasks as needed to speed up delivery in order to free up time for Creative endeavours. Additionally, involve copywriters and designers when necessary to help enrich the storytelling.
  • Collaborate with other members of the Content Creative team to evolve and iterate on our audio/visual experience, documenting these decisions in our guidelines

Influencing the future visual direction of Unmind's content, this would involve:

  • Own and level up the use of motion, VFX and animation in Unmind's content.
  • Deliver highquality, innovative work that elevates user experience and understanding across a range of mental health and wellness topics.
  • Ensure a coherent endtoend user journey by following our brand guidelines and reflecting our visual identity in all of your work.
  • Seek creative solutions towards representing the diversity and humanity of our users.
  • Understand and define project briefs from concepts through to post production & delivery
  • Provide accurate timing estimations and work towards established project deadlines
  • Edit and update work based on feedback, data or testing, preserving consistency with our core brand identity
  • Liaise with our creatives to translate creative vision into compelling motion and animation

SKILLS AND EXPERIENCE:

  • Strong understanding of visual storytelling you are able to use motion and animation creatively and sensitively to represent abstract, complex and sometimes challenging concepts and ideas.
