Farmhand at FARMERS' Welsh Lavender Ltd to start ASAP

3-5 days per week including some weekend days during the summer months and occasionally thereafter. Permanent role with 3 month probation period.

Farm based in a bright, modern shed workspace north of Brecon at LD2 3HU.

£13/hr to start
Welsh Lavender Ltd grows and distils lavender, a key ingredient in our skin care range called FARMERS'. Products are made on the farm and in North Wales.

All products are filled and labelled on the farm before being dispatched to retail stockists and customers around the world.

All operations are managed from the stylish, modern workspace on the farm.

The farm is a tourist destination for hundreds of visitors every year.

They come to see how lavender is grown and distilled, swim in the wild swimming pond, shop in our carefully curated farm shop and enjoy refreshments in our informal café.

As well as the farm shop we have a flagship store in nearby Hay-on-Wye which sits next to our holiday let, Tredegar House.

We also offer glamping accommodation on the farm in our smartly renovated truck, Pantechnicon Powys.

This is an eclectic job for a highly motivated, multi skilled person who would like to join a
small team of friendly people who work closely together high on our Welsh hillside. The
range of duties is wide. Priorities often shift from handling a large group of visitors to packing up an order for The Savoy Hotel.

Examples of tasks you'll face
Liaise with stockists

Help to ensure daily smooth running of the business

Packing & dispatching online & wholesale orders

Invoicing

Manage accommodation bookings for 2 holiday lets

Welcoming visitors to the farm

Serve refreshments

Occasional outdoor work - weeding, planting, pond maintenance

Making and bottling products from time to time

Contribute ideas in creative sessions

Skills required
Strong organisational 'll need to cope with competing demands

Excellent communication skills - both written and spoken (Welsh language an asset)

High level of administrative efficiency

Managing multiple tasks simultaneously

Happy to muck in

Enthusiastic

Customer service skills - shop sales, serving in cafe

Taking responsibility

Able to work on own and as part of a small team

Keen attention to detail

Good IT and web skills - use of Microsoft Office packages. WordPress, Mailchimp and Quickbooks helpful although training provided
