Trainee Batching and Concrete Plant Operative

Starting Salary:
pension, paid holidays & bank holidays.

40 hours contract (with additional overtime as required).

Hours of Work:

Hours will be varied.

Standard hours of work will be Monday - Friday starting at 07;00am however flexibility to work overtime in the week starting earlier/finishing later.


Duties and Responsibilities:

  • To effectively operate a batching plant to the standards required by the company using laid down procedures.
  • To ensure the batching plant, yard and equipment are kept in a clean, tidy and checked condition and to maintain at all times.
  • To maintain accurate materials/stock levels as required
  • To ensure that all technical testing required for the production of concrete at the plant is carried out to the correct standards and timescales.
  • Maintain records and learn compliance for BSI Audits and conduct BSI Audits for Plant.
  • To learn and fully operate our cloud based shipping system and advise drivers of any notes on each delivery ticket.
  • Any other duties, within reason and capability, as agreed through consultation with Company Director/Manager.
  • Working knowledge of concrete production plant and materials would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.
  • Mechanical experience would be an advantage.
  • Great communication skills.
  • Ability to plan organize and prioritize own work load.
  • Composure under pressure in a fast paced environment.
  • Ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Excellent IT Literacy.
  • Strong customer focus.

Progression in role to include becoming a qualified batching and concrete plant operative.
