This position presents the opportunity for someone to complete a degree apprenticeship as a Healthcare Science Practitioner in Medical Physics Technology at UWE Bristol, while working at The Clatterbridge Cancer Centre (while being payed a salary at an Annexed Band 6).


On successful completion of this apprenticeship, you will gain a BSc(Hons) in Healthcare Science (Medical Physics Technology), and be able to register as a member of the RCT (The Register of Clinical Technologists).

At this point you will have the necessary qualifications and training to become a Physics Technologist at the Clatterbridge Cancer Centre.


This is a three-year course combining face-to-face, work-based and online learning, with three five-day blocks at UWE Bristol in each year for seminars, laboratory and practical sessions, plus tutorials and assessments.


As a Physics Technologist, you will be responsible for maintaining the efficiency of radiotherapy equipment, performing dose measurements for patient treatments and keeping records up to date in accordance with the local quality system.
