Charity Hub Host

Every day brings new challenges at Great Ormond Street Hospital (GOSH). Around 750 children and young people from across the UK arrive daily. Doctors and nurses battle complex illnesses, and bright minds achieve pioneering medical breakthroughs. This hospital relies on charitable support to provide the best chance for seriously ill children to fulfill their potential.

How you'll make a difference

If you enjoy meeting and talking to new people and want to develop your administration and communication skills, this role is for you.

We're looking for volunteers to promote the charity to hospital staff, visitors, and patient families, raising awareness to support more seriously ill children by being the face of the charity within the hospital community.

What's involved?

  • Accept, record, and receipt donations in person.
  • Inspire support for the charity and hospital work through conversations.
  • Promote fundraising activities and events.
  • Support the Community Fundraising team by engaging with potential fundraisers.
  • Assist in running engagement activities and events for patient families.

What time should you offer?

The Charity Hub is open Monday to Friday from 10.30am to 2.30pm. Shifts available are 10am–1.30pm & 11.30am–3pm, with a 30-minute break.

Volunteers are needed on Thursday and Friday at the Charity Hub.

Ideally, commit to one shift a week for about six months.

  • Can handle sensitive interactions and use initiative.
  • Comfortable with cash transactions and basic IT skills.
  • Adheres to policies and procedures for safety.
  • Positive representation of GOSH Charity and values.
  • Willing to undergo checks and provide references.
