The Supply Room Agency is seeking dedicated SEND Support Assistants to work at a Specialist School supporting learners aged 3 to 19 years in the Weston area.


As a SEND Support Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing individualised, holistic education to learners in a caring and nurturing environment.

Collaborating with therapists, specialist staff, and other professionals, you will help students achieve their personalised learning goals.

About you:

1.

Patience and Empathy:


A strong ability to be patient, understanding, and empathetic towards individuals with varying needs and abilities is essential for a SEND Teaching Assistant.

Being able to communicate effectively and build trust with students is crucial.

2.

Adaptability:

SEND Teaching Assistants often work with students who may have complex needs and require individualized support. The ability to adapt to changing situations, think on your feet, and modify teaching strategies accordingly is key.

3.

Communication Skills:

Clear and effective communication is key when working with students, teachers, parents, and other professionals in a SEND environment. Being able to listen actively, explain concepts in different ways, and provide feedback is vital.

Teamwork:

Collaborating with teachers, therapists, and other support staff is a significant aspect of being a SEND Teaching Assistant. Working together towards common goals, sharing information, and contributing to a positive team dynamic is essential.

Problem-Solving Skills:


Being able to identify challenges, brainstorm solutions, and implement strategies to support students in overcoming obstacles is a valuable skill for a SEND Teaching Assistant.

Working in a SEND setting can often involve unpredictable situations and changing requirements.

Additionally, you will need 3 Alevels or equivalent qualifications and the right to work in the UK.

These are temporary, full-time, term time only positions, you must be available to work Monday to Friday, 08:30 - 16:00- starting ASAP
