Clerk to the Governors

Sackville is seeking a Clerk to the Governors to provide advice and guidance on governance, constitutional, and procedural matters. This professional will contribute to the efficient functioning of the governing board and its committees.

The successful candidate will be responsible for:

  • Providing administrative and organizational support to ensure compliance with legal and regulatory frameworks
  • Offering advice on procedural matters related to the board's operation

Extensive training and guidance are available through the West Sussex County Council, making it possible to acquire the necessary knowledge within the role if needed.

The ideal candidate should possess strong interpersonal and organizational skills, effective communication abilities, and the capacity to work collaboratively within a team. Meetings are typically held on Monday evenings, with an average duration of 2.5 hours, totaling around 10 meetings per year. Regular attendance is essential, and there might be additional meetings throughout the year, which could be held during school hours. Additional hours related to managing these meetings will be compensated accordingly.

Hours: 8 hours per week Salary: Grade 4 - £23,500 pro rata or £12.18 per hour
