Job summary
The department is looking for a Specialty Doctor in Anaesthetics to join our busy anaesthetic department. The successful candidate will have full GMC registration, UK experience, a minimum of 2 years at SAS grade in anaesthesia and experience in Ophthalmic anaesthesia as well as general anaesthetic competencies.
We particularly welcome applications from motivated individuals keen to invest in the development of our services and who will contribute to a positive departmental culture.
The anaesthetic department are known for working cohesively and supporting one another not only in the clinical setting but physically and emotionally too.
Main duties of the job
The job will be daytime sessional work in theatres with no on-call commitment and the option of weekend trauma on a 1:8 basis.

The Hillingdon Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust is the only acute Hospital in the London Borough of Hillingdon and offers a wide range of services including accident and emergency, inpatient care, day surgery, outpatient clinics and maternity services. The Trust's services at Mount Vernon Hospital include routine day surgery, delivered at a modern treatment centre, a minor injuries unit and outpatient clinics.

Person SpecificationEssential and Desirable
Essential
Full GMC registration and license to practise Previous experience working in the NHS 2 years working at SAS grade Evidence of being able to independently provide eye blocks Evidence of higher training in paediatrics Engages with appraisal and performance review Demonstrates ability to manage patients with complex needs whilst remaining aware of their own limitations Demonstrates good time management skills Ability to adapt and work in differing environments Excellent communication skills Demonstrated ability to develop effective relationships across teams, contributing to their successful working Understanding of clinical governance systems Evaluates and instigates initial management of safeguarding concerns. Teaching Skills - at different levels and with different professions. Keeps up-to-date with current research and best practice Locates and uses clinical guidelines appropriatelyDesirable
Post-graduate professional qualification in anaesthesia Demonstrated ability to provide safe and effective immediate care for critically ill patients of all ages Obstetric anaesthesia experience ALS provider Undertaken training in management and / or team working. Evidence of attendance at national and international meetings in Evidence of clinical audit/QIP within a department/Trust Implements evidence-based change to improve patient care Active and consistent engagement with local quality improvement projects.
