Role Overview:


We are looking for a dedicated individual to the join the current support team with our client to provide 16 hours a week of support.


Our client has support in her own home and during appointments as she likes routine and consistency regarding all aspects of her care.

Our client is a lady in her mid-forties with advanced progressive Multiple Sclerosis.

She is fully independent at home most days but needs support with some personal care routines, and accessing her community as she can get extremely fatigued due to her MS.

She lives in a fully adapted bungalow to meet all her needs, and has a supportive family. You will be joining an established team of Support Workers.

This nice lady needs support with her taking her medications routines, personal hygiene and using moving and handling equipment. She is able to walk with her stick and uses a wheelchair. She can speak clear spoken English, communicate her needs and wishes, and poses no behaviours that challenge

Our client likes to lead a stress-free life and listen to music, meditates, she also enjoys watching TV soaps. Part of the role will be to get out on social outings and help her experience more meaningful activities.

The Support Required:

We are looking for someone who had extensive care experience and has worked in the care industry before.

Please see below for Main Responsible of the Role:

  • Adhere to the support plan designed by the client and approved by HomeCareDirect. This will include a wide variety of duties at the client's home and in the community which enable the client to live as independently as possible and in the manner in which they wish to live
  • Enable the client to live as full and active a life as possible.
  • Undergo training as determined by HomeCareDirect so that you are trained to meet the client's needs as specified in the support plan. Full induction, training and ongoing support will be given.
  • Complete a daily record of work in HomeCareDirect log books so that accurate and reliable information is available to HomeCareDirect about the client
  • Attend supervision sessions with a HomeCareDirect representative so you can be assessed as being safe to perform tasks in which you have been trained. Which are usually 4 times a year.
  • Attend appraisal sessions with a HomeCareDirect representative so that feedback can be provided and any issues raised and discussed. Career progression and further training opportunities for personal assistants will also be discussed here
  • Comply with relevant legislation and HomeCareDirect operational policies and procedures
You will be required to assist the client in the tasks below:

  • Assistance with personal care including washing and dressing
  • Making meals ensuring food is cut up small to reduce risk of choking
  • Providing medication in line with medication planner and risk assessment and also ensuring it follows the client's medication routine.
  • Attending and arranging appointments at the GP, hospital with client as she requires assistance with her wheelchair.

About the Pay:

Hourly pay rate is £10 per hour

Bank holidays are paid on the Government set dates. 5 are paid at time and half and 3 are paid at double time. This is paid midnight to midnight.

Supervisions, Training and Distance Learning will be paid at National Minimum Wage

Working some weekends will be part of the rota and nights if wanted.
