Software Support Engineer - The Role

As our Software Support Engineer, you will bring your experience in application support to Aperta and your core responsibilities include:


• Owning individual customer incidents reported directly of via our front end support staff, ensuring delivery of solutions in line with the SLA agreements, meeting deadlines and quality standards, providing regular updates to key stakeholders at all levels.

• Work with customers to provide product demonstrations, define their requirements for new features and enhancements and internally work with the rest of the team to develop, test and deploy these.

• Provide support outside of normal business hours on a rotational basis.

Software Support Engineer - The Successful Candidate

Background, Skills, Aptitude


• Must have over 2 years suitable experience customising and supporting business applications preferably in the financial services industry. The applications are parameterised via custom tools requiring a detailed understanding of the customer's workflow.

• Demonstrable ability to liaise with customers and internal staff at all levels to develop requirements for new customer requirements and work with the rest of the team to test and deliver a solution.

• Suitable experience of MS SQL Server queries and scripts, Active directory, Windows Server and IIS.

• Strong attention to detail and excellent customer service orientation.

• Ability to quickly learn, implement, and utilise new technologies.

• Analytical and problem-solving. Combine and organise information to identify underlying relationships, causes and effects; and draw a logical conclusion.

• Excellent oral and written communication skills in English.

• Organisation and prioritising - can effectively address projects, requests and competing priorities.

• Self-learning mind set - desire to learn new skills and willing to share knowledge within the team

• Knowledge of Pen testing and experience of supporting applications on AWS would be beneficial.
