Are you a confident communicator with an eye for detail? Do you enjoy a mix of desk-based work and getting out and about? We're seeking a Revenues Inspector to join our team in the South Oxfordshire area (Didcot/Thame).
As a Revenues Inspector, you play a crucial role in identifying new properties for both council tax and NNDR (National Non-Domestic Rates).

Revenues Inspector
What You'll be Doing:

Property Identification:Collaborate with the council tax and business rates teams to identify new builds. Liaise with Building Control and Planning teams to receive lists of new properties.

Valuation Support:Work closely with the valuation team to ensure accurate assessments.

Exemptions and Reductions:Assess properties for council tax exemptions and disability reductions.

Field Visits:Visit both domestic and non-domestic properties to assess entitlement to empty property exemptions and partly occupied relief.

Record Keeping:Update computer records and perform administrative tasks related to your work.

Efficiency and Customer Service:Ensure efficient processing of tasks, meet SLAs, and provide prompt and informative service to clients and the public.

Collaboration:Raise any issues with your team leader and work collaboratively within the team.
What we're looking for:
- Full driving license (60% of the role involves field visits)
- Strong communication skills
- Ability to work under pressure and to tight deadlines
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently and manage your workload effectively
