If so, we are seeking a hardworking, enthusiastic and committed individual to join our friendly and diverse Paediatric imaging team as Paediatric Imaging Assistants in the Paediatric Radiology Department at Nottingham University Hospitals.

This roles comprises of both administrative and clinical support within Paediatric Imaging Department.

As a Paediatric Imaging Assistant, you will split your time between administrative duties including reception and appointment scheduling, and supporting patients and staff clinically.

Previous paediatric experience in a healthcare setting is desirable, however not essential. We will provide a full induction and training to carry out your duties.


Your main duties will be to provide clinical support to assist in the smooth running of the Paediatric Radiology Department.


Your focus will be to ensure that patient's needs and welfare are attended to, and their visit to the Radiology department is efficient and coordinated.


The role will involve preparing the examination rooms prior to procedures, and assist with immobilising and distracting paediatric patients to ensure an optimum experience for patients and parent/carers.

You will be expected to assist with manual handling, including the transfer of patients within Trust.

You need to be computer literate and be able to perform reception duties.

The post is a 37.5 hours a week, currently covering Monday to Friday. The successful applicant needs to be approachable and enthusiastic, and able to work well as part of a team. You will need to be able to cope emotionally and physically with difficult situations involving children.

The Radiology Department supports all services within the Trust and spans across Queens Medical Centre, City Hospital and the Treatment Centre.

In order to meet the demands of these services, we currently have 25 X-Ray rooms, 7 MRI Scanners, 6 CT Scanners, 27 Ultrasound machines and 5 Interventional Radiology suites with further plans to redevelop and expand these areas.

The paediatric x-ray department provides imaging from new-born to 18 years. The radiographers and radiologists perform a variety of examinations in a friendly, small department.

This supportive team works closely together to provide high quality, safe care for the communities we serve.
