Band 3 A&c Library Assistant

Service Care Solutions are currently recruiting for a temporary Band 3 A&C Library Assistant to work within the Oxford Health NHS Trust.

This role will be based within the Whiteleaf, Aylesbury area mainly, however some cover could be required in the Warneford & Littlemore sites.

This will be on a 3 month temporary contract with possible extension.

Hours
22.5 hours per week (worked over 3/4 days)

Rates
£10.28 PAYE ( £12.50Ltd) paid weekly via an umbrella company.

Main Duties
To undergo administrative work and provide secretarial support to the Library team.

This will include being the first point of contact for team/ department, which could involve duties such as:

Assists in clerical routines and administration associated with day to day running of library services and the maintenance and circulation of book and journal collections, including using automated systems

Participates in key information services including administration of literature searching services, supporting current awareness services by maintaining up to date lists of subscribers

:

Supports librarians by providing marketing and promotional materials and taking opportunities to promote awareness and use of library services

:

Helps to ensure the library environment is safe and well-presented. Creates displays of current materials and library services, ensures displays are maintained effectively. Participates in regular fire safety checks. Reports problems to line manager, facilities, estates, IT as required

Shares responsibility and workload as required with other Library Assistants working in the Library Team; liaising, supporting and working with library staff based at other sites to provide efficient and effective library services

Ensures book stock is controlled and well maintained by 1) issuing, renewing, recalling and reserving books, claiming overdue items, using the automated catalogue and circulation system and 2) shelving and tidying, repairing items where required and processing new additions

:

Assists users by answering enquiries relating to resources and services and use of equipment such as library copiers, computers and peripheral devices. Registers and introduces new users to library services in groups and singly, online or in person and maintains user records on library systems in accordance with current data protection regulations

Ensures the efficient control and maintenance of the library's journal collection and maintaining accuracy of all holdings' records in lists as required
