The R T Keedwell Group is a nationwide haulage company, operating from a network of eight depots. A long-established family business founded in 1969, we are proud of our modern, top-spec vehicle and trailer fleet and the team that operates them.
Job Summary:
R T Keedwell are looking for an experienced Transport Manager to work out of our Highbridge Depot. You will be working alongside our other TM's whilst reporting to the Highbridge Depot Manager. Fleet & Driver administration will be a huge part of this role and a close relationship with HR and payroll is essential. This is for both the General Haulage Fleet & Brick & Block fleet.
Whilst most of the vehicle planning will be covered by our main planners, there may be a requirement to manage a small number of vehicles on a regular pattern contract (same work every day)
A National CPC certificate is essential as well as some experience in the role.
The role of a transport manager involves the following duties:
- Assessing drivers and delivering Inductions
- Arranging repairs and routine maintenance
- Drivers Hours Rules and Regulations and subsequent infringements.
- Ensuring that all drivers and operators have the correct, up-to-date qualifications
- Maintaining and completing accurate records
- Keeping schedules and organising team members
The candidate must be knowledgeable of all the regulations and duties involved with being a TM as well as persuasive enough to ensure that traffic teams route the vehicles into the workshops when booked.
The role will predominantly be Monday to Friday, with 1 in 3 Saturday Mornings required, to meet with certain drivers, ensure that vehicle downloads are completed and assist with other management duties.
