Job Description

As a registered and authorised supplier to the NHS and many private healthcare providers, Direct Medics are working with Psychology professionals throughout the UK & Ireland to help them find new and exciting opportunities.

As such, Direct Medics are working in partnership to find an experienced and dedicated Band 8a level Clinical Psychologist to fulfill this long term role in the Diabetes Psychology Service.

The successful Clinical or Counselling Psychologist will provide specialist psychological assessments of service users, interpretation and integration of complex data from a variety of sources including psychological and neuropsychological tests, self-report measures, rating scales, direct and indirect structured observations and semi-structured interviews with clients, family members and others involved in the client's care.

The will also formulate and implement plans for the psychological treatment and/or management of a client's mental health problems, based upon an appropriate conceptual framework of the client's problems, employing methods based upon evidence of efficacy, across the full range settings. This role is a Monday to Friday role, 37.5 hours per week and is based in Colchester, Essex. Travel allowance will be paid.

To be considered you must have the following:


• Current HCPC registration as a Clinical Psychologist


• Post-graduate doctorate in clinical or counselling psychology (or its equivalent for those trained prior to 1996 or those in lateral transfer) as accredited by the BPS


• Have specialised experience working in the NHS in the UK of exercising full clinical responsibility for psychological assessments and intervention for people referred to an Integrated Diabetes Service.


• Have the right to live and work in the UK
