School Groundsman/Caretaker

25-30 hours per week, 52 weeks per year

£10.41 to £11.72 per hour

The Community Recruiter are pleased to be working with Archbishop Benson School in their search to recruit a passionate, friendly, and hardworking Groundsman/Caretaker to look after their much-loved school.

Archbishop Benson is an inclusive and supportive primary school that works hard to put the needs of all our children first.

Role responsibilities:

• To lead all aspects of site management including a wide range of duties connected with the fabric and grounds of the school. This includes security, cleanliness, porterage, routine maintenance and refurbishment, minor repairs and suggested improvements to the general school environment.
• To work with the facilities team in achieving their tasks.
• To assist with bookings for the school hall and sports pitches.

Our ideal site operative will have:

• Level 2 NVQ in a recognised trade or GCSE's level qualifications plus suitable trade certificates/experience
• Basic Health & Safety qualification/training/experience
• Good standard of practical knowledge, skills and experience of building and grounds maintenance work
• Knowledge of use & maintenance of general and/or specialist equipment
• A current qualification to drive a minibus (D1) would be an advantage but not essential.
