Job Summary

We are in search of a Clinical Lead to join our Integrated Wheelchair Service team. This role offers the exciting opportunity to provide expert clinical leadership, drive clinical operational performance, and collaborate with the operational management team to enhance quality continuously. You will be overseeing a skilled group of local clinical staff consisting of occupational therapists, physiotherapists, rehabilitation assistants, rehabilitation engineers, and rehabilitation engineering technicians. Close collaboration with the clinical director and clinical leads/managers from our other wheelchair services is crucial for success. We have established robust professional networks and embedded a quality assurance framework. Your role will involve advocating for the organization through relevant national bodies and professional entities. By taking on this position, you can contribute your vision and leadership to enhance service user outcomes.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Develop and maintain the clinical foundation of the service within our governance structure
  • Manage, coach, lead, and develop staff on a daily basis
  • Empower the team to achieve measurable results with full accountability and interdisciplinary collaboration
  • Ensure high standards of clinical practice in alignment with policies and regulations
  • Promote the service across the county and facilitate user involvement and collaboration with other entities
  • Drive the clinical development of the service based on national guidelines and evidence-based practices
  • Collaborate with the service management team to meet performance targets
  • Utilize advanced clinical reasoning to fit and adjust equipment to meet user needs

Experience

Essential

  • Postgraduate experience in wheelchair services
  • Managing caseloads and clinical incidents
  • Working with diverse health and social care services

  • Interdisciplinary collaboration and project management
  • Teaching and presenting to colleagues and service users

Qualifications

Essential

  • BSc or diploma in occupational therapy, physiotherapy, or engineering
  • Registration with relevant healthcare councils
  • Postgraduate training in managing complex conditions
  • Evidence of continuous professional development

  • Postgraduate qualification and membership in special interest groups
