We are seeking a well-motivated and experienced nuclear medicine chief clinical technologist or lead radiographer to join our Nuclear Medicine team. The position is based at the West Cumberland Hospital, Whitehaven (WCH) however the post holder will work when required at the Cumberland Infirmary, Carlisle (CIC - approximately 40 miles away).

This is an exciting time to join our department our service. The departments at WCH and CIC have undergone significant redevelopment with a refurbished department at WCH and the installation of two new SPECT/CT cameras (one in Whitehaven and one in Carlisle). WCH and CIC undertake a wide range of imaging, non-imaging and out-patient therapy work.

Main duties of the job We would expect you to have: a good knowledge of nuclear medicine technology and the processes involved in nuclear medicine good knowledge of health and safety in nuclear medicine good communication skills and a demonstrable ability to work as part of a team. The ideal candidate will also have experience leading a nuclear medicine service and managing staff.

In addition to nuclear medicine work the Medical Physics department at the West Cumberland Hospital also runs a clinical measurement service including lung function tests and ambulatory blood pressure monitoring. The post holder may be required to undertake training for this activity as future role development.

The successful appointee will be an integral part of the local Nuclear Medicine team which includes clinical scientists, clinical technologists, nursing and administrative staff.

You should have a degree or equivalent qualification with significant nuclear medicine experience and be on or eligible to join the Register of Clinical Technologists or registered as a Radiographer with the HCPC.
