We are recruiting a research and communications administrator to play a key role on a new project: 'Discovering Liveability: Co-Producing alternatives to Suicide Prevention'. 'Discovering Liveability' is a 7-year Wellcome funded project, led by a team of investigators based at the University of Lincoln, University of Edinburgh, and Mind in Camden. The project uses multiple methods to investigate alternatives to suicide prevention involving collaboration, co-production and lived-experience leadership. A Lived and Living Experience Hub will be established, bringing together scholars, activists and practitioners across the world with an interest in the role of lived/living experiences in informing, leading and delivering suicide prevention.
This is an exciting opportunity to join our friendly and enthusiastic team, and to play an important role in supporting the research team and engaging with diverse groups to share social research on suicide. You will be based in the School of Social and Political Sciences within the College of Arts, Social Sciences and Humanities at the University of Lincoln.
You will support external communications and public engagement. You will also provide effective and efficient general organisational and administrative support for the project and ongoing research activities. You will work both independently and collaboratively with the team and will liaise with the public and external stakeholders. You will need to be confident in using a variety of mediums for communication, and have strong written and verbal communication skills, as well as good interpersonal and organisational skills. An ability to work in a compassionate and socially responsible manner is a must as the project deals with suicide and related distress and involves close collaboration with those who have lived and living experiences of suicide.
The role is suitable for someone who is enthusiastic about communicating academic research to wider audiences and keen to provide administrative support for the project.
Whilst this is a permanent post, please note it is linked to a 7 year funded project, at the end of this period, discussions will be held with the postholder about any available suitable alternative roles at the University of Lincoln
