To work as an integral part of the ED team ensuring a high-quality service to patients and to provide a service that ensures that the patients' needs are satisfied and requirements are met

  • To assist the ED team to ensure that the appropriate and effective delivery of facilities services in order to properly maintain the patient environment
  • To supervise an effective waste segregation and disposal service ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and legislation
  • To work as an integral part of the ED team ensuring a highquality service to patients and to provide a service that ensures that the patients' needs are satisfied and requirements are met
  • To assist the ED team to ensure that the appropriate and effective delivery of facilities services in order to properly maintain the patient environment

  • To supervise an effective waste segregation and disposal service ensuring compliance with all relevant procedures and legislation
  • To liaise with the cleaning services to ensure that cleaning standards on the Unit meets the agreed specification and any unsatisfactory areas are rectified
  • To provide guidance to domestic staff to ensure that standards and policies are met.
  • To liaise with the Senior Nursing Team & nursing team ensuring that work is planned in the most appropriate way to provide a patient focused and seamless service
  • To ensure, in conjunction with the Nurse in Charge, that patients are provided with appropriate beverages at regular intervals throughout the day. To make and serve beverages to relatives as instructed by the nursing staff and to ensure that patients have the necessary access to beverages throughout their stay in hospital
  • Giving assistance in nutrition requirements where necessary, and ensuring appropriate selections are made dependent on the patient's dietary requirements. Ensure provisions are requested from the Catering Department by the required time
  • To ensure, in conjunction with the Catering Department that any meals are served in a presentable and timely manner and that appropriate cutlery and condiments are supplied
