At Sharpsmart, we are dedicated to revolutionizing the healthcare waste industry through innovative practices that reduce ecological impact. Our focus on superior technology, reusable products, and recycling initiatives helps us minimize landfill waste and CO2 emissions.

As the UK Sustainability Lead, you will play a crucial role in championing innovative sustainability and corporate social responsibility (CSR) practices across our business.

Sustainability Responsibilities:

  • Lead the development of UK Carbon Reduction strategy plan to achieve our net zero carbon emission goal by 2040.
  • Provide business direction to set sustainability Carbon reduction targets and key metrics for performance evaluation.
  • Establish sustainability focus groups to drive initiative ownership and alignment with our global commitments.
  • Cultivate internal awareness of sustainability initiatives to promote a culture of sustainability.
  • Maintain the carbon emission database and prepare sustainability performance reports in compliance with customer and regulatory requirements.
  • Conduct research and engage with industry networks to address future climate advancements and risks.
  • Stay updated on technology trends to ensure our teams are prepared for the future.
  • Support the tender team with environment and sustainability responses for bids.

Corporate Social Responsibility Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the CSR committee to develop the Social Value strategy and deliver initiatives to meet company and customer requirements.

Candidate Profile:

  • Minimum 2 years of experience in a similar role.
  • Passion for Social Value and Corporate Social Responsibility.
  • Strong understanding of environmental principles.
  • Ability to challenge existing practices and communicate effectively at all organizational levels.
  • Proficient in interpreting data, analyzing trends, and producing reports.
  • Adaptable to fast-paced work environments with excellent project management skills.
  • Detail-oriented with experience in reporting business performance.
  • Valid driver's license and willingness to travel.
