The Insurance Division in Moody's Analytics will be hiring graduates in 2023 to join our Edinburgh-based team.
This large, highly-skilled and diverse team focuses on a variety of activities associated with our Scenario Generation & Financial reporting capabilities.
Insurance companies are adapting to many challenges range from managing climate related risk through to significant changes in the regulatory environment in which they operate.
In the Insurance Division we are providing Insurers with cutting edge mathematical modelling that are embedded in new technologies that allow firms to harness our scalable cloud based modelling and reporting solutions to meet these increasing and evolving demands.
The roles would suit Computer Science graduates who would like to leverage and build upon their knowledge and skills to help solve complex real-world problems in the financial services sector.
The engineering team support and develop a wide range of products, ranging from the industry-leading Moody's Analytics Scenario Generator, a market-leading stochastic modelling solution widely used in the life/general insurance, asset management and wealth/pension industries, to greenfield multi-tenant Software-as-a-Service products delivered using serverless cloud-native architectures.
The roles also offer the opportunity to get involved in the financial modelling side of our products, working closely with our research team to deliver new and enhanced modelling capabilities across the entire product suite, should an applicant be interested in this area of software engineering.
The role will involve a wide-variety of activities associated with developing and supporting our products and services including:
- Delivering regular product releases to our large customer base, working in an agile Scrum team to deliver both improvements to existing functionality, as well as new products and capabilities.
- Providing technical support backup to our customer support team, assisting with technical questions from customers
- Identifying and working on opportunities to continuously improve our software development lifecycle
- Access to both inhouse training and attending relevant external courses and conferences to aid with professional development
Qualifications:
- Undergraduate degree in Computer Science, or a STEM degree combined with a strong level of programming interest and ability. MSc/PhD degrees in relevant fields are advantageous.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, including the ability to communicate with individuals/teams with different backgrounds and at all levels.
- Excellent problemsolving skills.
- Can hit deadlines while maintaining high standards.
